A downloadable external mod for Windows

This is an external mod allowing Multiplayer for Paladin's Oath : Steam Shop

Features

  • Two or more players can play the same game in cooperative mode.
  • Players play asynchroniously. No need for all players to be online at the same time. Therefore no problem with downtime (downtime = waiting time for other players to plan and process their turns).
  • Playing on the same map, with the same enemies and locations, sharing the same Ambient Mana and Markets.
  • Cooperative Citadel Assault supported
  • Timer (Dummy Player) supported
  • Turn Restart supported
  • Simple built-in chat
  • Possibility to manage multiple games in parallel: Just copy the EXE-File and rename it. Each file can handle a separate game. Alternatively you can switch to another game by clicking the GameID on the Welcome tab, then click [Start]
  • The same Paladin character can be used by multiple players within the same game
  • Benedictions: The same benediction can be used by multiple players within same round.

Installation

  1. Download the ZIP-File and unzip it.
  2. Right-Click the EXE-File, go to its Properties and click [Unblock].
  3. Run the EXE-File.

Game Setup

  1. Start the EXE-File
  2. Click [New]
  3. Input GameID
  4. Input your Nickname
  5. Start Paladin, create a New Game (stop on Benediction card selection screen)
  6. Click [Join] and then wait for all other players having joined.
  7. Click [Start]

The following players can select the GameID from the list on the "Welcome" tab. However, they still have to create a new game within Paladin before joining, as this will create their character.

How to play?

  1. On the "Game" tab you can see the current player's turn. If it's your turn, then in Paladin click [Continue] and go on with your turn.
  2. After you have ended your turn, you may remain on the Campfire screen, but you are not allowed to go to the Explore screen and there will be a message telling you to wait for the other player's turn.
  3. Before you Continue with your next turn, you must go back to Paladin's MainMenu (Press Esc-key and click [Main Menu])
  4. Wait until you're mentioned again as current player. Go on with Pt. 1

There is a Status web page that let's you know what games you are currently running and who's turn it is. This helps to quickly check if it's worth to start up Paladin and PMP and do your turn.

Special Notes

  • You cannot move on/over a space occupied by another player
  • Timer is processed upon first player's turn only. When the timer runs out, all players have their last turn, while the game shows "End of Round announced" message.
  • If player goes to sleep, all other player have their last turn, while the game shows "End of Round announced"
  • Only first player can see the Timer's remaining number of turns.
  • The scenario and its configuration is determined by first player's selection.
  • If multiple players are standing on the same space (for example at the beginning on Portal), you will just see one of the players (usually the other player) on the map.
  • The player's turn order is given by the sequence they join the game. Benediction selection has no impact.
  • Kraks conquered by other player won't give you any hand card bonus.

How to assault a Citadel cooperatively?

  1. After a citadel has been discovered, you can assault it cooperatively.
  2. Whenever you like, no matter if it's your turn or not, you can switch to the "Citadel" tab and click [Load Citadels]
  3. From the Dropdown list, select the citadel you would like to assault
  4. In the box all players are listed. Click on each player and set the number of enemies this player will take over. You have to assign the total number of enemies present in the selected citadel.
  5. Click [Plan the Assault]
  6. From next turn, all players joining the assault must assault the planned citadel.

Notes regarding Cooperative City Assault

  • For Cooperative City Assault, the scenario must have at least two citadels.
  • If you succeeded with you renemies, but other player doesn't, you keep standing on the citadel's space
  • When citadel is discovered, you cannot assault it during the same turn! You must plan it first and therefore you can assault it during the next player's turn earliest.
  • For initiating the assault, the players don't have to be adjacent to the citadel.
  • When it's your turn to assault the citadel, all the other players are temporarily hidden, so you can walk through spaces where other players are standing.
  • If you defeated all your enemies, but overall failed, you still keep standing in citadel; but you need to pay move costs again when trying to assault next time.
  • During assault, the other citadels are not giving any bonuses and count as unconquered. After the assault, this will be restored.
  • The scenario configuration (map shape, Ambient size, citadel levels etc.) made by the first player joining, will be used for the common scenario accross all players.
